Five Things I'm Doing This December

We've made it to December and 2022 is fast approaching. This month always flies by with the run up to Christmas, and this year isn't any different as I'm only getting round to write this on the 5th!

Christmas isn't really a big thing for me, I spent last years at home for the first time in years. That being said, this year I'll be working in a hotel, I'm sure some of the festive cheer will rub off on me.

HEARD in London - History, Eat, Art, Refresh and Discover

History

I tend to spend a lot more time at home during this time of the year so I've been keeping my eyes open for online courses/talks taking place this month. City Lit have a few interesting ones, as do Gresham College.

Eat

Instead of recommending places to eat this month, I've come up with a list of my favourite cook books I've bought this year and absolutely loved. These could be a bit of inspiration for those looking for Christmas present ideas for foodies! Crave by Ed Smith, Ottolenghi Test Kitchen, Sambal Shiok, Vietnamese by Uyen Luu, One Bakes and One Tin Easy Bakes by End Kimber, Bowls and Broth by Pippa Middlehurst and Sugar I Love You by Ravneet Gill.

Art

I'm definitely overdue a visit to the National Gallery, and their current exhibition Dürer's Journeys: Travels of a Renaissance Artist sounds absolutely amazing.

Refresh

Why not pop into Hithe + Seek at the new Westin London City hotel, not far from Mansion House tube, for a glass of the good stuff paired with a mince pie. Or even better, join us for our 8KM festive run which sees some of the best Christmas lights in London on the 14th at 6pm. We finish at the hotel and will be provided with mince pies and mulled wine!

Discover

A few other festive ideas for this months 'Discover'.

  • Canopy Market at Kings Cross

  • Lower Stable Street Christmas Market at Coal Drops Yard

  • The London Artisan market on the 18th and 19th

  • Wick Wonderland Market at Canary Wharf

As always have an amazing month!
