Gordons Wine Bar at 47 Villiers Street, just off the Strand dates back to 1890 and has a decent sized wine list along with a nice selection of cheeses and meats. After you descend the steps you'll find yourself stepping back into the cities past inside this beautiful wine bar, the eerily lit rooms with its beautiful wooden walls lined with newspaper clippings just add to the atmosphere.
It's quite easy to spend a few too many hours here...
