Five things I'm doing this January

January is a busy month for us all - starting off with New Years Eve hangovers, then the resolutions, then back to work and back to reality!

I for one have been hiding away this Christmas and New Year period over in Vietnam, which happened to be one of the best decisions I've made. So of course I'm not one for resolutions either, but I do like to think I should get out and about a bit more, eat out in restaurants more often (solo lunchtime ones - nothing fancy!) and also get back into cooking.

I thought starting up five recommendations each month throughout the year would be a good list for me to work through, and maybe for anyone else out there reading this with similar interests out their as me!

Number One

With my new cinema pass I plan to go to the cinema a lot more. To be honest I love going to the cinema on my own, in the middle of the day, so this shouldn't be too hard to fit around my busy schedule!

The films at the top of my list are The Favourite, Mary Queen of Scots and I still haven't got round to seeing Mary Poppins Returns.

Number Two

Finally get round to visit The Jewish Museum in Camden Town, especially to see their current exhibition Remembering the Kindertransport: 80 Years on.

Number Three

Visit Portcullis House right by the House of Parliament to see the 209 Women Exhibition. This exhibition opened to coincide with the anniversary of the first election where some women could cast a vote, and showcases a range of portraits of female MPs, photographed by female photographers.

Number Four

Get to know Chinatown inside out! I'm planning to do tours around here in the future, so I plan on eating out in every single place this fascinating area has to offer. I eat here a lot already, and it's a great place for a quick and cheap lunch, but I want to discover even more (I'm open to suggestions!).

Number Five

Visit Hampton Court Palace. I've never been and I'm slightly embarrassed. Anyone else think it's just that little bit to far? We Londoners do get a bit lazy...
